Hello, Dear One,
I know that many of you love this letter.
It used to be so easy to write.
I was so determined to give you something of value.
I wrote over a hundred prompt sequences.
I spent time on themes.
I thought about what you’d received the week before; made sure there was variety.
I don’t know the exact number of hours I spent writing here, but I’m willing to bet it’s at least 400 hours (55 full working days).
I hope they made even the smallest difference to your heart.
I still believe in every one.
And this isn’t working anymore.
It isn’t joyful.
I’ve been clinging to the ‘idea’ of this letter months.
And it’s time to face facts: I’m fresh out of prompts.
I’m letting go of what is was, to discover what it might become.
The thing is, I’ve evolved.
In my journaling, I’m going back to the beginning of Write to Thrive: simple practices which speak to my soul.
I’m relieved not to have to constantly think of something new; a pressure that came from no one but me. Maybe I’d also been putting that pressure on you.
Often the most effective thing is just to write. So, that’s what I’m going to do, here. Maybe every week, maybe not. I have ideas about the topics I’ll cover, but I also want to give myself freedom.
And I’m still giving you something of value: me.
It’s enough.
I’m putting on my brave boots and letting go of the fear, the advice of business coaches who’d tell me I’ve worked so hard to build an audience I’d be mad to give it up.
I choose myself first.
You aren’t just ‘an audience’ to me. You are you; I am landing in your inbox; you are reading my words. To me that will always be sacred.
Where are you clinging so hard to what was that you aren’t making space for what is?
Thanks for being here and being you.
All love,
Jo
BRAVE BOOTS: 29th May - 2nd June, Live Teaching, Coaching, Fun!
A week where you can get out of your own way and do the thing with LOVE and JOY.
I want to encourage you to take brave action, through teaching, coaching and a glorious community.
If you’re stuck, anxious or have a feeling there’s so much more for you it would be glorious to see you there.
All that you write is pleasurable, with a point to it.
Love it! We are all going through transformation and I appreciate you being a brave example that it is ok to admit when something isn’t working anymore - if it isn’t working for you then it won’t work for us, either.
