Hello Dear One,
This morning while I was journaling I noticed how often I got distracted. I needed to check my bank balance, and my email, and get tickets to a gig. I often feel like this when I meditate – and in life generally. It makes sense, given that we live in an age of distraction.
Today something was coming up that I didn’t want to look at. I noticed and sat with it. Wrote a little more. Started working through it.
It’s easy not to look at difficult things, to keep going even though we sense it will do more damage in the long term. When it comes to journaling a timer helps.
Really.
Set one on your phone and leave your phone on the other side of the room.
Yes, it might feel tricky and uncomfortable, but it could be what you need.
All love,
Jo
IF YOU MISSED IT LAST WEEK…
I would love your feedback on the letter. Fill out this short form – a huge thanks if you already have.
AND FINALLY
I love this song very much, perhaps you will too.
Good tip! I’ve been intentionally avoiding a deadline piece for a few days now. On this morning’s London Writers Salon, I set the intention to NOT write about it, and guess what? I wrote half the damn thing! Reverse psychology is real 😀
