Hello Dear One,
How are you?
I was having a great January: until yesterday. Yesterday thing after thing hadn’t worked out the way I hoped.
Having the wind taken out of my sails is a pattern for me. Instead of judging myself and asserting how I ‘should’ feel I supported myself as I was. It’s ok not to feel shiny and brilliant all the time. Ask yourself: what do I need?
I’d put prompts together the week before and turned to one. Something that always makes me smile is listing the sounds I love. There’s something so pure about it: anchoring. You could use any of your senses. Sometimes we don’t need to write more about how we’re feeling: we can write about what we love instead. The trick is knowing ourselves well enough to tell the difference.
Instantly I felt relief.
I want to make clear that I don’t believe in forcing yourself to feel grateful. Feel what you feel. And know that even in tough moments, those moments where the sun has gone behind a cloud, it’s possible to find joy. To love what you love.
If you’d like the full book of prompts grab them here.
Thanks for being here and being you.
All love,
Jo
P.S. My next workshop is a week today!

The prompts in your booklet have been ever so helpful in turning my midwinter melancholy into more tolerable (and sometimes even joyful!) moments, especially the suggestion to write a kind note to myself and open the next day. I wrote it on a greeting card, sealed the envelope and stuck it in my journal. Opening later this morning. Thank you, Jo!
